Program Coordinator

Job Title: Program Coordinator 

Job Type: Contract - up to 12 months with possible extension

Location: Cincinnati, OH 

Work Designation: Hybrid

Starting Salary: $25/hr 

Schedule: Must have the ability to work a varied schedule, about 4-8 hours weekly to include some evenings and weekends. 

 

About the Organization: Our Tribe is a grassroots initiative founded in 2021 by parents of Black children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  After years of witnessing the sidelining of a community, Our Tribe was created to build support for families and a movement that promotes justice and equity for Black people with autism in Cincinnati. 

 

Our Tribe has reached a critical stage in its development. In just under two years of operations, the grit and determination of the mothers involved in this grassroot effort has engaged over 300 members of the local Black Autism Community, secured critical partnerships with Cincinnati Children's Medical Hospital Center and the University of Cincinnati, and raised over $100k in funding. 

 

Job Description: We are looking for a competent and  dedicated Program/Event Coordinator that will undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. This role will encompass a plethora of responsibilities that require focus, attention to detail, time management skills, organizational skills, and effective communication with a diverse group of individuals. The Program/Event Coordinator will maintain administrative activities and support day to day tasks related to the onsite programs including: recruitment, enrollment, administrative support, marketing and additional tasks as related to the programs.  If you have a passion for building relationships, event planning, community engagement, and a heart for building equitable communities for Black people with autism and their families, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.  

 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Planning and coordination of a program and its activities

  • Ensuring implementation of policies and practices

  • Maintaining  budget and tracking expenditures/transactions

  • Help build positive relations within the team and external parties

  • Schedule, organize, and facilitation of meetings/events and maintain agenda

  • Keep updated records and create reports or proposals

  • Support growth and program development

  • Collaborate with vendors, venues and partners across the city to plan and execute Our Tribe  events and programming 

  • Coordinate with social media and marketing team to develop materials and outreach plans about programs and resources

  • Coordinate with team members, board members and vendors to ensure that a final high-quality project is delivered on time and within budget

  • Brief Director on project progress. 

 

Additional Requirements and Skills

  • Proven experience as program coordinator or relevant position

  • Knowledge of program management and development procedures

  • Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping and reporting (a plus)

  • Tech savvy, proficient in Google Docs  (a plus)

  • Ability to work with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams 

  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Detail-oriented and efficient

  • BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field (a plus)
